Dear Colleague,
Thank you for attending our workshop, Creative Professional Learning On Cross-Generational Teams, at the National Staff Development Council Conference. On this page you will find resources shared during the presentation. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or feedback: PErnewein@DenverAcademy.org
The art and science of professional learning is undergoing a revolution. For this we are grateful, as it is long overdue. Much like classrooms and business models are flattening, so is professional development for educators. Along with the ubiquitous presence and role of New Digital Media, understanding and utilizing the often-missed component of generational differences can play a critical role in the success of learning teams.
We have found that incorporating and honoring the key elements of differentiated instruction along with an understanding of generational differences are key ingredients to productive and innovative teacher learning teams.
Objectives:
1. Identify the core elements of differentiated instruction.
2. Introduce definitions, characteristics & clashpoints of different generations.
3. Experience the key steps in the learning team model.
4. Understand the role of creativity on learning teams.
Thanks again for sharing your time, energy and passion.
Sincerely,
Philippe & Steve
